30 June – 2nd July 2011, Grand Season Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The 13^th of Conference on Syariah Officer organized by the Department of Syariah Judiciary Malaysia (hereinafter known as "JKSM") was successfully held on June 30, 2011 until July 2, 2011. The conference was officiated by the Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak whereby it was simultaneously held with the 2nd of Convention of Syarie Counsel. All of Melaka Syariah Court’s officers present to dignify the said conference and convention.

The Prime Minister in his opening speech in the conference and convention has announced several important things including the Syarie Counsel Act shall be enacted in the near future, aimed to protect the welfare and govern the rules of Syarie Counsel. By regulating the act, it will form the Syarie Council which play the same role and functions of the Bar Council of Malaysia established under the Legal Profession Act 1976. The Prime Minister said at the same time, the government will set up an academy known as Institute of Syariah Judicial Training of Malaysia (ILKAS) which provide a professional training for judges, prosecutors, officers as well as the Syarie Counsel.
